Bow making made easy!

Step 1

  • Start by placing your tie off ribbon print side down over the center space on the bow maker. Be sure to center the ribbon on board for the 3”, 5”,  7”  Easy Bow Maker.
  • Use one clothes pin to hold the ribbon in place.

Helpful Tips: Choose ribbon that you can tight tightly. Wire ribbon and thick ribbon can be hard to get a good tight knot. You can always use a piece of twine or thin ribbon then wrap a decorative thicker or wire ribbon over the center at the end to finish your bow off.

Step 2

  • Place your ribbons through the slit to the left of the size you want and through the right side or the corosponding slit.

Helpful Tips: Choose colors that complement each other. Torn fabric makes great bows.

Don’t lay all your ribbons neatly on top of each other. Your bow will look fuller if you just gather all your ribbons and let them be a little twisty and messy. Don’t worry, you can fluff your bow at the end to get things just right.

Step 3

  • Grab the ribbons from the left side and pass them through the slit on the right with the hole below it.

Helpful Tips: Remember it’s ok if your ribbons get a little twisty, we can adjust them later if needed.

I love using strips of fabric for ribbon. It’s vey cost effective, fluffs up nice to give you a full looking bow and has the perfect farmhouse look.

Step 4

  • Pull the ribbons down and use a clothes pin to hold them in place.

Helpful Tips: You want the ribbons to be snug enough to stay in place, but they don’t have to be pulled too tight.

Step 5

  • Repeat step 3, but you will be pulling the ribbons from the right side over tho the slit on the left with the hole.

Helpful Tips: No real helpful tips here, jut remember this is fun and if you make a mistake you can just try again. You’ve got this!!

Step 6

  • Just like in step 4 you will use a clothes pin to hold the ribbons down in the back.

Helpful Tips: Your almost done!! I know it feels like a lot of steps the first time you do this, but after doing in once or twice, it’s so easy!!

Step 7

  • Remove the clothes from the center tie off ribbon.

Helpful Tips: This might be the easier step there is!

Step 8

  • Pull the front side of the ribbon to the back.

Helpful Tips: If you plan to keep this as your finished ribbon make sure to position it so that the front/pattern side of the ribbon is facing out.

Step 9

  • Flip the whole Easy Bow Maker over and tie a tight knot with your tie off ribbon.

Helpful Tips: If you plan to glue your bow on to something, you can swim the loose ends off. If you want to use the loose ends to tie the bow to something then you can leave them be.

Step 10

  • Flip the Easy Bow Maker over and remove the two remaining clothes pins.

Helpful Tips: Plan to store your easy bow maker and your clothes pins together so they don’t get lost.

Step 11

  • Pull all the ribbon ends to the front of the Easy Bow Maker.

Helpful Tips: If you have a hard time grabbing the ribbon ends, you can slide the bow up a little to give yourself some room.

Step 12

  • Slide the bow off of the bow maker

Helpful Tips: If you put your ribbons really tight and it’s hard to slide off of the bow maker, just gently pull up a little on each side a little at a time until if comes off of the bow maker.

Remember, it’s ok if your bow doesn’t look perfect. Every bow needs a little fluffing after assembling it.

Step 13

  • Trim the tails /ends of your bow and fluff your bowing you are finished!!

Helpful Tips: Remember you may not get the perfect bow the first time. The great thing about these kinds of bows, if it doesn’t turn out, you can just remake it! No waste!

Keep practicing and you’ll be a bow making expert in no time!
